Dr. Bekir Sait Ciftler is the Head of the Data Science & Artificial Intelligence Department and an Assistant Professor at the University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) in Qatar. Prior to his leadership role at UDST, Dr. Ciftler served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU). He possesses a unique blend of academic and industrial experience, having worked as a Solution Architect for P.I. Works in Istanbul and as a Research Intern at Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratories (MERL) in Cambridge, MA. He was also a Visiting Research Assistant at North Carolina State University.
His research lies at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence and networked systems, with a specific focus on Privacy, Security, and Explainability (XAI) in Machine Learning applications. Dr. Ciftler is dedicated to developing robust AI solutions for communication systems and data-driven environments.
Dr. Ciftler received his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Florida International University (2017). He holds an M.Sc. from TOBB University of Economics and Technology (2013) and a B.Sc. from Middle East Technical University (2011).
